Last week, we had the pleasure of being part of Benefolk’s launch of the brand new Expert Bar. Here’s a quick little recap of what went down!
What is Benefolk?
This is best answered by Benefolk, so we’re doing a quick copy and paste from their About Us page:
“Founded in 2018 as The Xfactor Collective, we’re an Australian professional services intermediary focused on the social sector. Our name literally means ‘good folk’. ‘Bene’ reflects the many good things associated with our sector – such as benefit, benefactor, and benevolent – while ‘folk’ speaks to the wonderful people who make up the sector.
We connect not-for-profits, charities and impact-focussed businesses to the very best professional services and resources. We believe all social changemakers should be able to achieve their mission without burning out – which is our raison d’être.”
GO Salary has been a network member of Benefolk for some time now. We love having an opportunity to engage with others who provide services to not-for-profit organisations.
Benefolk’s Mission
We love Benefolk’s core mission, which exists to eliminate burnout in the social sector. The team at Benefolk Foundation produces valuable resources, such as The Community Well. These have been well received by those in the social sector.
As we are well aware through relationships with our clients and members, those working at NFPs are constantly putting others first. We love the idea of a social enterprise which exists to help those who are working hard to help others.
The Expert Bar Launch Day
Benefolk held a launch event on Thursday 5 September to officially unveil their latest project – the Expert Bar. Volunteers, employees, board members and others can book an appointment with a vetted expert through the Expert Bar, giving near-instant access to valuable assistance from those with a wealth of experience. It’s a bit like telehealth for the social sector!
Held at Aerial in Melbourne, the launch event had guest speakers, hundreds of attendees, and a live in-person Expert Bar! It was a wonderful occasion and GO Salary was pleased to attend as a network member and supporter.

There are some links above, but also keep an eye on Benefolk’s LinkedIn page for news and offers. Grantmakers are donating Expert Bar vouchers which creates a great opportunity for NFPs.
